This page says what MkrBid collects, who can see it, and how to have it removed.

What we collect

Your account: name or shop name, email address, phone number, the profile icon you pick, and whether you signed up as a maker or a customer.
What you do here: listings you post (text, photos, video), and your bids and entries, with the time of each.
Your shipping address, if you add one, so a maker can send you what you win.
Maker payment handles: if you are a maker, the PayPal, Zelle or Cash App details you choose to add.
Connected payment accounts: if you are a maker and connect Stripe, your Stripe account ID; with bank payout, the ID of the Stripe account we open for you and which of the two you prefer; your payout schedule is kept by Stripe. Stripe, not MkrBid, collects your identity and bank details for it.
Payment status: whether a win was paid, and whether that was by Stripe or marked paid by the maker; with bank payout, whether the maker’s payout has reached their bank.
A sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

We never see card numbers or bank details. If a maker has connected Stripe, a winner pays on Stripe’s own checkout, straight to the maker (with bank payout, to MkrBid, which passes it on through Stripe). We only learn whether the payment went through. Other payments (PayPal, Zelle, Cash App) happen outside the site.

Who can see what

Everyone: your name and icon, your listings, and your name next to a bid, entry or spot.
A maker whose listing you enter: your email and phone, so they can reach the winner. If you win, they also see your shipping address. Makers cannot see the contact details of people who have not entered their listings.
Everyone: a maker’s payment handles, so people know how to pay.
Nobody else. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Who processes it for us

The site runs on Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage) and Vercel (hosting). They store and serve the data on our behalf. If email notifications are switched on, an email delivery provider sends them.

Messages in Marketplace chats, and in chats with someone who sells on the Marketplace, are read by an AI model from Anthropic before they are sent, along with the last few messages in that chat, to keep deals on MkrBid. Anthropic processes that text on our behalf.

When you pay by Stripe, we send Stripe only the item and amount; you enter your details on Stripe’s page, and Stripe handles the payment under its own privacy policy.

When a maker sets up bank payout, we send Stripe their display name, email address and a link to their MkrBid maker page, and say that they sell handmade knives through MkrBid. Stripe uses these, with what the maker enters on Stripe’s form, to open and verify their account under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. Bids and entries on a finished listing stay with that listing as the record of how it was decided.

Your choices

Change your name, icon, phone, shipping address and payment handles on your profile at any time.
Makers can disconnect Stripe from their profile at any time.
Ask us to delete your account and the data tied to it, or to send you a copy of it.

This site is for adults. Do not use it if you are under 18.
